We enable performance and people’s wellbeing in smart and sustainable built environments. Our sustainability approach covers environmental, social and governance areas and five material topics: Climate change, Resource use & circular economy, Own workforce, Workers in the value chain and Business. We are committed to the United Nations’ Global Compact initiative and Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels. We aim to reduce 42 % of emissions from our own operations, 42% of emissions from fossil powered products and 42% of emissions from other value chain actions by 2030 from a 2023 base year.

A robust foundation

We conduct our operations responsibly and support the wellbeing of our employees based on recognised frameworks, scientific knowledge, and the expectations of our key stakeholders, including employees, customers, investors and suppliers. Sustainability is integrated into our business and governance and is guided by internationally recognised principles such as the United Nations Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals.

To ensure that our sustainability work focuses on the most material topics, we regularly review our materiality assessment. This assessment considers our business model and value chain, industry and regulatory developments, global trends, and the needs of our key stakeholders. We apply a double materiality perspective, evaluating both our impacts on people and the environment as well as the financial risks and opportunities related to sustainability.

In addition to the rationalization of material topics below, you can read more about our impacts, risks and opportunities (IROs) and how we manage the material sustainability topics in our annual Sustainability Statement. These ESG areas are interconnected but require an integrated approach to sustainability management. We set clear sustainability targets and monitor our performance through defined key performance indicators to ensure continuous improvement.
